T
his Alaska wildlife adventure is designed as an exclusive holiday. During the height of the sockeye salmon spawn you will fly via private seaplane to Katmai National Park on the Alaska Peninsula. There you will watch one of the largest populations of brown bears in the world snag 10-pound, fire-red salmon from the Brooks River Falls. Spectacular!
Back at the Alaska Lodge—your home away from home on Alaska’s largest lake, Iliamna—your daily adventure options include: an all-day float down the Copper River, a boat ride to an island inhabited by freshwater seals, kayaking, fly-fishing, and an afternoon spent at the smokehouse of an Alaskan Native. There you may pitch-in to help traditional fisherman net, fillet, and smoke salmon for winter and, of course, feast on the delicious, wild-caught fish! This makes a great family vacation.
